The purchase of Christmas gifts can substantially increase the value of home contents and homeowners should ensure they have both appropriate security and adequate insurance coverage.
Most home insurance policies do provide an increased level of coverage during Christmas, but some do not and under-insurance can add to the impact of a festive burglary.
In addition, figures from the ABI show that the incidence of burglary is 20% higher than average during January, February and March.Primecover advise Homeowners to check that they are covered adequately over the Christmas period.
