Value versus price!
In its 2012 manifesto, the British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) has stated its intention to empower consumers through improved financial education, particularly in relation to the benefit to consumers in seeking advice from qualified insurance brokers.
In their view, the commoditisation of insurance has lead to an ’unhealthy’ focus on price and a reduction in the numbers of consumers who are seeking advice from qualified insurance professionals.
At Primecover we believe it is essential for consumers to recognise that insurance policies are complex contracts, and that without appropriate advice, there can be gaps in cover that consumers might not recognise until it’s too late. For example, BIBA understands that many landlords have a standard home insurance policy when, in the event of a claim, the policy would be deemed as invalid as a Property Owners policy is required in these circumstances.
We believe that when looking for insurance the focus for consumers should be on the suitability of cover rather than the price. Primecover is here to help to guide you to find the most appropriate policy for your needs. Give us a call today on 01204 841880 to see how we can help you.
