Public Liability Insurance
Public Liability Insurance covers the policyholder in connection with the declared business activities, it provides legal liability to pay damages to members of the public for:
- Accidental bodily injury, death or disease
- Accidental loss of or damage to material property
Limit of Indemnity: £1,000,000; £2,000,000 or £5,000,000. (other limits available upon request)
Extensions generally include:
- Legal costs and expenses - to defend any claim and solicitors fees for representation at court proceedings
- Health and Safety at Work Act defence costs - but not fines or penalties
- Liability for damage to leased or rented premises
- Overseas Personal Liability - personal liability of directors, partners, employees and spouses while temporarily overseas on business
- Products Liability - covers liability for goods supplied as part of work undertaken subject to certain exceptions
- Defective Premises Act - the policyholder’s liability under the Act - but not the costs of remedying defects
- Indemnity to Principals and Plant Owners
- Contractual Liability - covers the policyholders Public Liability assumed under contract or agreement - subject to certain limitations
- Cross Liabilities - indemnifies each party shown as the Insured as though a separate policy had been issued to each
- Motor Contingent Liability - covers liability for business use of other people’s motor vehicles if no other cover is in force
